When I work on a sound, I really need to see how the waveform changes. The visual aspect is very important to me, and Reaper helps a lot in understanding the shape of the sound.

In these days, I worked on a Wwise and Unreal Engine adaptive footstep system. It didn't work at first, but I realized the Lyra project level used only one surface type (concrete). Changing the level solved it—though I probably lost 3 years of my life cursing!
