Right after voting NO on the Senate's terrible deal last week, I joined DFLers in Senate District 41 for their monthly meeting to discuss my vote and to thank them for the work they're doing to help deliver DFL victories up and down the ballot in 2026. Good to be with them!

The House and the Senate have both passed legislation to release the Epstein files. It's now up to President Trump to sign the bill as he said he would.

The Senate’s terrible deal does nothing to address the looming healthcare crisis coming from Republicans’ refusal to extend the Affordable Care Act tax credits and the Medicaid and Medicare cuts they made in the Big Ugly Bill.

Lawmakers in the U.S. House of Representatives have returned to Washington to vote on a bill to end the longest federal government shutdown in history. Democratic U.S. Rep. Betty McCollum joined MPR News host Nina Moini to talk about the vote.

The Senate’s government funding bill fails to address the Republican health care crisis and cuts SNAP by $18 billion. It’s a bad deal for the American people — I’ll be a strong NO when this bill comes up for a vote in the House of Representatives.

"As a member of the House Appropriations Committee, [Betty McCollum] opposed the cuts to the CDC’s Office on Smoking and Health and has been a strong supporter of tobacco control. We need more lawmakers to follow her lead and put kids’ health first."

Earlier this week, I held a forum at a Saint Paul food shelf on the impacts of the Trump administration's tampering with SNAP benefits. With today's court order, the administration needs to obey the law and ensure SNAP recipients don't go hungry.
Minnesota food shelves, SNAP recipients uncertain over federal payments
While some in the Trump administration say food benefits could restart as soon as this Wednesday, the uncertainty is stressful for Minnesotans who rely on them and food shelves in the state.

This bill wouldn’t just send Border Patrol agents into the Boundary Waters—this would allow the Department of Homeland Security to bulldoze habitats, trails, streams, and campgrounds to construct Border Patrol installations in America’s most breathtaking and scenic wilderness.
GOP bill would allow border patrol operations, infrastructure in the Boundary Waters
Democrats are pushing back on the effort by Republicans in Congress, saying it would overwrite protections for Minnesota’s wilderness area along the Canadian border.

Voters in Maplewood and Woodbury are heading to the polls this fall for a special election that will determine control of the Minnesota Senate. I'm proud to be supporting Amanda Hemmingsen-Jaeger to defend our DFL majority. Can you chip in $10, $20 or $30 to help fuel her campaign?

As the People's Lawyer, @keithellison.bsky.social is defending our rights, fighting for justice, protecting consumers, and taking a leading role against the Trump administration's cruel, illegal overreach in court. I'm proud to support him in his re-election campaign for Attorney General.

Donald Trump is retaliating against states that voted against him in the 2024 presidential election by canceling grants to expand the grid, boost clean energy, and improve America’s infrastructure. It’s illegal, it’s shortsighted, and it’s childish.
