Not that you asked my opinion, but I think I'd look at health concerns as the best way to pare that down.

I didn't go through individual depth charts because I felt like there are better uses for my time, TBH. That's why I did the Indexes the way I did them. You can usually use that to see where they stand (it only warps a little at the extremes).

The calculation as to who was a starter and who was a reliever was done automatically based on start percentages, height and level mostly. I really don't know what will happen. The cutoff was a predicted 50% start percentage. Bubic was 46%. His projected ERA as a starter is 3.96 with a 104 Index.

How much Kyle would a Kyle Tucker tuck if a Kyle Tucker could tuck Kyle?
January 9, 2026 at 4:05 PM
A good example is Carlos Rodon. His FA was 93.5 in 2016 and 95.4 in 2024. But if we check the velocity game logs, his fastest fastballs in 2016 were faster than 2024 and his slowest fastballs in 2016 were slower than 2024. So Rodon both threw slower in 2016 than 2024 but also faster.
January 9, 2026 at 4:01 PM
I don't know the data, how much of that increase is due to a higher percentage of max effort fastballs? I'm certain it's not all of it. Some of it is clearly player selection and some is training improvements.

I know that Rich was really sick a long time ago. Great to see he's still trucking along. Son of Svengoolie was a staple of my youth.

That's not true. We had one into the 1980s. The dirty little secret is that, early on, they actually worked better than many of the early touch tone phones.

If they did, I'm sure they'd get a lol every time the minute hand was between VI and VII on the clock. They don't know the kind of fun they're missing.

Before I had my abdominally surgery I was on 'fours' for 11 days before I got to eat food or drink water again.

This was actually very helpful. I have not been as diligent as I needed to be over here. And also thanks for putting me on the list.

Weather must not be too bad if you're walking in Chicago on New Year's Eve.

I'm not. Everyone is projected to 650 PAs. Leave the playing time to others. Plus it can change so much based on roster moves. That's why it's park neutral too: I'm just trying to evaluate hitters.
