The word tax and the number 72.5% should never be in the same sentence :-)

Taking account of the unique characteristics of the reward, the amount of ‘qualifying’ carried interest subject to tax will be adjusted by applying a 72.5% multiplier.

The major risk and the cost of Car-T, comes from the requirement of lymphodepletion/chemo.
In theory, it is possible to do it differently (in vivo CAR) but human data is only now emerging. You guessed it, from China! And it doesn’t look bad

Early bits of in vivo CAR-T human data emerge from biotech trials in China
Initial clinical data from Genocury and EsoBiotec shows promise for in vivo CAR-T therapy, with complete remission in lymphoma and myeloma patients without lymphodepletion.

I am more excited about new technologies than most but I think this piece misses the point. In future pandemics, we may not immediately know which virus is immunigeniic. A killed virus vaccine may be the first line of defence. Important stepping stone!
