In #ChartingCyberspace, we visualised 134 states and territories being affected by submarine cable disruptions and disinformation campaigns, as well as the 84 involved in cyber operations (including intel, LE and spyware) and investing in new submarine cables.

TL;DR, Cyberspace became more prone to conflict as US responded to threats & this trend will continue.

Anticipating Trump’s influence on US Cyber Command
The new Trump administration is likely to adjust how the United States positions itself and engages with adversaries in cyberspace. Amidst a series of geopolitical crises, the risk of escalation in cyberspace grows.

Attribution in cyberspace has evolved over the last decade, a reality illustrated while building the IISS Cyber Power Matrix. We came up with a new framework the 'six degrees of cyber attribution' to better illustrate the variations in the actor-state relationship.
