Visiting Vindolanda Fort last year opened my eyes to appreciating Roman archaeology. Not least because their Museum has a whole gallery dedicated to wooden finds from the site and a great display about #dendrochronology

“Io Saturnalia” | Let the celebrations commence!

The Roman festival Saturnalia was celebrated from 17th to 23rd December and included feasting, decorating the house with holly and exchanging small gifts.
