Our goal last week was to find Wolves. We did indeed find them and had the chance to watch them hunt on two occasions. The only problem was they were far away.
We were fortunate to come upon a flock of Rocky Mountain Big Horn Sheep on two occasions. They were incredibly fun to watch.

Spending the weekend with my friend Chris in Big Sky Country before meeting up tomorrow with @moosepeterson.bsky.social and @carolsmithphotog.bsky.social for a week of cold weather photography! Simple iPhone click.

Floating down the Uganik River on our first night in bear camp our first bear was this big old girl. She protected this area because of its concentration of salmon which will help fatten her up for the winter.

Kodiak never seems to disappoint. So happy to be back @rohrerbearcamp. Here are two bears, most likely sisters in their first year after being kicked out of their mother's den.
Watching them popup in different spots was a photographers version of wack-a-mole!

I love a good sunrise ☀️
The peace of wilderness at sunrise is everything. When that God beam shot straight up it was like a movie scene.
You can actually hear sunrise in winter when sun touches frost and snow - sounds you hear no other time 🎧

🌊 HAYSTACK ROCK MAGIC ✨
When the tide retreats and the light hits just right... Oregon's coast shows off! Although the light was harsh and these clicks were simple iPhone captures, Cannon Beach delivered this dreamy scene.

Violet Crowned Wood-Nymph Shower

The raindrops were falling steadily when we spotted a flash of emerald green darting through the misty Costa Rican cloud forest.
Hovering effortlessly in the rain, wings beating 80 times per second, completely unbothered by the weather.

Standing at the edge of Grand Prismatic Spring at dawn, I was completely mesmerized by nature's own masterpiece. The steam rising from the 160°F waters created an ethereal veil, while the vibrant orange and rust-colored bacterial mats painted intricate patterns across the mineral-rich terraces.

Madera Canyon Magic
Madera Canyon delivers pure magic for wildlife photographers, especially when black-chinned hummingbirds arrive each spring. These metallic green jewels, with their distinctive dark throats that shimmer purple in perfect light, mystify anyone that has the chance to watch them.

We are in Madera Canyon photographing birds, hummingbirds in particular. This Broad-Billed hummingbird sparkled in the morning light. The weather believe it or not is actually cooler in the desert than it is at home. @nikonusa @bedfordcamera #nikonnofilter #maderacanyon @santaritalodge

🦉 We were scanning the canopy for warblers when @MoosePeterson spotted an Eastern Screech Owl, perfectly camouflaged and giving us the stink eye for disturbing its daytime roost. Sometimes the best birding moments aren’t the ones you’re actively seeking. #MageeMarsh
