Like humans, maybe LLMs should have negative incentive to produce roo much text. They should be rewarded for conciceness & completeness.
Their eagerness to spit out too much text is a very general problem with LLMs. As long as billing is token based there is little incentive to fix it either.

@bsky.app totally missed a massive marketing opportunity by downplaying hitting the 40M user threshold. I was expecting a lot of noise, press releases etc, but nothing. Just a few tweets and that's it. So far, it's been a totally missed opportunity to revitalize the platform.

Grokipedia is a good example of what I have noticed with Claude too: LLMs are terrible at assessing the credibility of sources. Not necessarily an LLM's fault, but the underlying search engines are to blame too. LLMs take the results at face value which makes it even worse.

Has anyone managed to prevent Claude Code from jumping to conclusions and validating their hypothesis more rigorously?
LLMs need a new metric: Intelligence per unit of time. For example: Claude Haiku 4.5 is over 2x faster than Sonnet 4.5, but apparently equally capable to Sonnet 4.0. What if you put it to do twice the work? Equally fast to 4.5, but how capable? This is what matters a lot for agentic coding tools.

The problem for the gap is that with agentic coding tools you are out of the loop. You don't intuitively learn the behavior of your code, the boundaries & corner cases remain unclear. That's why the best way to learn a new codebase has always been to refactor it. #llm #claude
