Took an eternity to wake from our slumber but now we’re right back in it. Momentum is with us and we just need to up the ante with midfield control and watch balls over the top from them. Great to see Ollie back on the scoresheet. Let’s go and win it! #AVFC

I’m sure smart arse opposition fans will debate it for the sake of it but surely that’s a clear pen? Given the fouls this bloke has been awarding to date I don’t see any difference. When moving it only takes minimal contact to bring someone down #AVFC

You just make life tough for yourself conceding goals like that. Surely our keepers must know you can’t be that soft in the air nowadays? A frustrating start and, once again, we are conceding with the opposition’s first attempt. The positive is we have time to get back into the contest #AVFC #UTV

Obviously rapt with a dominant overall performance but still a tad disappointed we didn’t put them to the sword. Complacency crept in late which made for a more nervous last five minutes than we’d have liked. Still, we have consolidated our spot in the upper echelons & bank the points #UTV #AVFC

Got the job done after being sluggish out of the blocks. Tielemans is different gravy when he is on. Lindelof is rusty & I’m unsure about him at RB, while Guessand again provided little & may need to be redeployed to maximise his chance of success. Congrats to SJM on 300 appearances #UTV #AVFC

A tad lucky for that penalty not to be reviewed in my opinion as it appeared Konsa clipped his own ankle, however we take the goal after withstanding some pressure at the other end. Martinez with some superb stops. Keen to see some tweaks in the attacking third. On we go #UTV #AVFC

Despite our recent form, many of us had the expectation Villa would be the ones to help Liverpool turn the corner. The manner of conceding the 1st goal was, frankly, diabolical & it was a long road back from there. Still, six points out of a tough stretch so we lick our wounds & move on #UTV #AVFC

What a mighty performance on & off the pitch by Villa. The attacking fluidity is growing & the defensive grit was at the level we must see week in, week out. Cash’s finish superb. Six points from two games I’m sure many thought we’d be happy to take two from. We now have a great platform #AVFC #UTV

A brilliant European away win at a really tough place to go. Despite enduring the onslaught & contributing to our own troubles, the 2nd half performance was measured & we controlled the game. Loved the performances of Bizot, Pau & Konsa, while McGinn & Kamara owned proceedings in the 2nd half #AVFC

We don’t have much exposed form, but I honestly feel Bogarde has come on in leaps and bounds too. While he had some loose touches in the first half against Fulham, he has looked really assured in his brief stint tonight. Solid body work, clever with his feet and showed some grit #UTV #AVFC

Imagine having such confidence and faith in your replacement keeper. Bizot seems a great team man, had accepted his role prior to the Martinez drama and, most importantly, has stepped up when needed. A very astute signing #AVFC

It’s going to be interesting to see how Ollie gets out of this slump. He is carrying a fair weight on his shoulders at present and things aren’t clicking. He appears on his heels and his first touch is eluding him. Let’s hope we get behind him and he can extract himself from it against Burnley #AVFC

A reprieve for Villa. Weathering the storm a little but Feyenoord plays at a frenetic pace and recovers shape remarkably well. If we can withstand this pressure, space should open as the game wears on. It seems a really hostile atmosphere: proper European football! #AVFC #UTV

It’s great to get the monkey off our back. A vital three points to ease the squeeze and generate some momentum. We saw shades of our attacking identity re-emerge and, while we faded late, we bank the much-needed points and move on. Well done by all in the claret and blue today #UTV #AVFC
