Hartlepool Monkey
Hartlepool is a large port town in County Durham, North East England. At the height of England's war against Napoleon, they came across a villainous monkey, supposedly spying for the French. #England #History

“There is a cult of ignorance… and there has always been. The strain of anti-intellectualism has been a constant thread winding its way through our political and cultural life, nurtured by the false notion that democracy means that 'my ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.'”

I am far more reliant on the “30 days has September” rhyme than I usually care to admit for someone old enough to have seen the first Star Wars movie at the cinema.

I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of turkeys suddenly gobbled out in terror and were suddenly silenced. #thanksgiving

It turns out that when your lovely wife asks you to "Please get me something snacky from the supermarket", but when you ask what, and she responds "surprise me"...
She doesn't mean an onion.

If you often leave the house and go "Did I lock the door?", then a good #hack is to make a silly noise when you do it. Might not remember locking the door, but you'll remember making the silly noise.
You may have to explain why you're shouting "WIBBLE!" at your door... but it's a small price to pay.

So... what you're saying is... if I don't want to go big, I get to go home?

Having largely left #tea untouched and undiscovered until hitting my 50s, what's a winning formula to get the best out of it? What's your process?
November 13, 2025 at 6:51 AM
Here is a simple scientific formula.
tr = WPh(MIL) x vol(YTGN)
To explain:
The amount of trouble that Rob is in is directly proportional to the volume of the screaming-goat noises Rob is gleefully playing on YouTube while his wife is trying to talk to her mother on the phone.

#StarTrek: #Voyager launched in 1995 with a bold idea. Two crews...one Starfleet, one Maquis... stranded seventy thousand light years from home.
Into this mix we have Commander Chakotay. And the controversy surrounding the character.

It's a dark night. It's silent apart from the gentle lap of water against your little fishing boat. The ocean water is as flat as a mill pond. The stars are bright overhead... but a mist drifts in from the horizon.
Run. The Funayūrei are coming. #ghosts
