Oh! I just remembered - if anyone is reading Ellen Marie Wiseman's all-too-timely new release THE LIES THEY TOLD, about eugenics & immigration in 1930s America, we have an excellent extended book club kit. Scan the QR code or go to bit.ly/TheLiesTheyT.... Please share with anyone interested! #ewgc

Oooooh. We have a dark Wisconsin noir coming out in Feb that sounds like a good comp for this. AWAY TO ME, a debut by Patricia McConnell of all people - the renowned animal behaviorist who wrote THE OTHER END OF THE LEASH. www.edelweiss.plus?sku=14967571...

I second this Mormon Gothic #ewgc recommendation! The author was raised Mormon and took inspiration from the real experiences of 2 sisters who were married to her 3rd great-grandfather around the time of Utah’s settlement. So chilling and so good!
The cover for THE FOURTH WIFE by Linda Hamilton will be revealed on Kensington's socials soon!

I couldn't put down this thrilling Gothic that is The Hacienda by Isabel Cañas meets “Sister Wives”

I loooved OUTLAWED (which was surprisingly controversial in by book club due to fights about "worldbuilding") and have been meaning to get to this one. Your recommendation, as always, bumps it up on my TBR!

Based on real accounts, Cane not only weaves stories of resistance & hope, he also incorporates a queer narrative rarely–if ever–seen in novels about enslaved people in 1800s America. Raw, illuminating & perfect for readers of THE PROPHETS, AMITY, & THE UNDERGROUND RAILROAD. #ewgc bit.ly/BurnARC

If you, like me, believe longer days = darker reads...Jen Sookfong Lee’s THE HUNGER WE PASS DOWN (9/30/25) is a haunting, beautifully written literary horror that explores intergenerational trauma and the dark echoes of Hong Kong’s WWII military brothel, Nam Koo Terrace. #EWGC tinyurl.com/65prc577

I’m so excited about Donna Everhart’s novel based on the long-buried history of “The American Plan” that I’m leaking the cover here (shhhh!). If THE HANDMAID’S TALE was a true story that happened in 1930s America, it would be WOMEN OF A PROMISCUOUS NATURE (1/27/26). bit.ly/PromiscuousARC #ewgc

By the always-prescient Ellen Marie Wiseman, THE LIES THEY TOLD (7/29/25) is a haunting story about home, survival, immigration, greed & the shocking popularity of the eugenics movement in early 20th century America. Reach out for a print ARC! #ewgc bit.ly/41XExy1

Ugh I just missed almost all of #ewgc thanks to a meeting that ran long, but I gotta get a last minute plug in for Charlie Donlea’s GUESS AGAIN (6/29/25). Super twisty, Hannibal Lechter-esqe bad guy, and a hybristophilia hook! Print ARCs in about 4 weeks but DRCs are up now! bit.ly/3Fj5GlU

Love the new digs, #EWGC! Also love award-winning journalist Jack Ford’s riveting blend of biographical fiction, Cold War spy thriller & alt history as he reimagines era-defining female correspondent Lee Carson in BEYOND THIS PLACE OF WRATH AND TEARS (5/27/25). bit.ly/FordBeyondTh...
