If you’re looking to support local or small businesses, please check out my cold process soap business. When I’m not sewing, going to college or being angry at the government I’m working on this business with my husband.

Life is always moving. While we wait for my husband last paycheck spanning a month, travel and his last paid time off payout, he has enrolled full time in college. He’s no longer a federal employee. We no longer have to worry about his job and their overreach into our personal lives. fresh air.

Nothing like laying out your quilt and then editing the picture so you can tell if it’s evenly distributed. Works like a charm, I’ll have to rearrange some of these blocks. Of course cats must help as well.

We got the quilters. Fuck yeah protest art on your preferred medium. A preemptive shut the fuck up to people that think this is cringe.

Working on a Halloween quilt. 🎃
I only ended up cutting out enough drunkards path squares for a lap quilt so I might through some full squares in there as well.
No pattern decided yet

Trump withholding federal funding for the Hudson Tunnels to punish his political opponents is a blatantly illegal action that threatens nearly one hundred thousand working class jobs, wastes taxpayers money, and damages the safety and economic wellbeing of our nation.

When life gives you…. *flails arms*
Then you do this.

This will be the back & flap for my bag.

Sewists are so kind to each other. Every time I’ve ordered fabric or gotten some from a marketplace, I always get some kind note or surprise scrap. This time I ordered some older jelly roll strips that match the fabric I used for my kitchen curtains. The seller included a free quilt pattern. SO NICE

Making turtle face in my new ID photo. It’s weird to see the word student with my present age photographed. Feels surreal, never thought I’d be a student again after not completing my degree. But here we are finally.

Today I’m getting my parking pass and student ID at the college. Longest drive since the accident 😅

Decided to go with the Ghost Party quilt pattern and I’m excited to try something like that out.

I have 8 prints from Ruby Star Society - Good Spirits and I truly cannot pick a pattern to try out with them. Wanting something subtle but in season, if that makes sense. Probably a throw.

Managed a few seams of piecing last night. Sadly my leg is angry today but it’s a slow process.
At least now I can pin some more blocks together for my backpack. Not sure I’ll have it done prior to classes starting.

Well, sewing will be in a bit of a hold. Injured my leg in a car accident and have to keep my sewing foot elevated 😭

Going to try my hand at fpp for the first time.
Picked the Charleston Quilt block also known to some as Nell’s Star.

Pardon my absence. You see, I’m a firm believer in letting my inner child have fun. Life got overwhelming and stressful.
So a new video game came out and my husband preordered it for me (then got sent far away for work) which means I had nothing but time to indulge my inner child.

If my ability to sew was a person, it would be 23.
Legally allowed to drink.
I’ve been “professionally” sewing for 5 years.
It’s like my skill has a little life story.

I’m kind of spiraling a little bit. I don’t want to live alone in a 3 bedroom house most of the year. Do you know how lonely that feels? It’s privilege I never intended on having, I don’t know what to do most of the time and it’s not even space I could share.
Ranting a bit. So odd.

Slow but steady progress.
about 16” square once these are seen together.
Very pleased with how it’s coming along.
Ruby Star Society “Glow Garden” prints are quickly turning into a favorite. May have to pick up more than just the half yard bundle id snagged.

Front desk wake up calls are now set.
Thank goodness he’s not a stubborn man and likes to listen to logical suggestions.
My husband is lucky that I’m nocturnal and always awake when he has to wake up ungodly early for work. Especially when he’s in a different state and would get in a lot of trouble if I wasn’t calling the front desk to wake him up half the days.
Poor sleep deprived man.

What patterns are a “need” when developing your quilting skills?
Think I’m going to work on a drunkards path after making my backpack.
Working my way to a double wedding ring and want to have a solid skill set before tackling that one
Also I want to enter more quilts to win shiny ribbons
