This fucking sucks and is hostile af (yes, I get that this is the point). Our national parks are a treasure and I love sharing them with people. People visit the US specifically to see them. Nature should be open to everyone.
National Parks to raise fees by $100 for international tourists to popular U.S. parks
The National Park Service says it is going to start charging international tourists an extra $100 to enter popular parks. They will be left out of fee-free days, reserved for American residents.

Today, Little Lobbyists honors #AliceWong, a ferocious advocate for disability justice and disability culture-maker who died on November 14 at the age of 51. Alice was a larger-than-life figure in the disability community and a friend to Little Lobbyists

I see a lot of people speculating about how Alice died and I am asking you to...please not do that. If her family wants to share information about that on their own time, they will, but the speculation and sometimes outright conspiracy theories are actually really upsetting for them to see.

JOHN FETTERMAN

DO NOT VOTE WITH THE REPUBLICANS.

Their promises mean nothing and they have made it clear they want to destroy the families of America- primarily those who belong to disabled and minority groups.

This would be a vote to destroy the only lifelines families like ours have.

Stories like this around people rising to meet the SNAP crisis are easy to frame as inspirational and I appreciate the reporting here that stresses that this is a crisis of the government's making with long-term consequences that individuals alone cannot fix.
As SNAP benefits run dry, 'grocery buddies' are footing their neighbors' food bills
With federal food aid frozen during the government shutdown, there has been a wave of people rushing to help — sending gift cards or buying groceries for SNAP recipients in their community.

We're grateful to @maxwellfrost.bsky.social and everyone fighting against these cruel cuts to healthcare, grind Congress to a halt to keep our children alive.
They wanted to pass this evil budget to take away healthcare from millions earlier today. It’s still stuck in the rules committee cause House Dems introduced over 500 amendments and we are lined up to debate on them. Delaying is important. Keep up the pressure on these Congressional Republicans.

We agree with @hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social — the House Republican bill would force 14 million people to:

- Lose their health coverage
- Result in higher copays/premiums/deductibles
- Hospitals will close
- Nursing homes will shut down
- And people will die across the country
