I’ve created a small Python script to extract the social graph of followers and followings for any public Bluesky account.

You can upload the output CSV to a free @graphext.bsky.social account and create an interactive project like this one of my followings

I exported all the data that Google Maps and uploaded it to @graphext.bsky.social to answer a question I constantly ask myself: How much time have I spent in Madrid compared to Granada over the past seven years? It turns out I've spent roughly 30% of my time in Granada and 70% in Madrid.

Very interesting! Madrid now receives almost x3 as many national tourists as Barcelona, even though Barcelona gets over a million more international tourists each year than Madrid

Also curious Zaragoza gets x3 more national tourism than international.

Another great piece by Civio explaining how Spain’s prison permit algorithm works—and its biases. It hasn’t been updated since 1993!

I find it pretty amazing that almost every home in Madrid has a metro station within 300 meters on average, and only 25% are more than 500 meters away. Across the entire city! Data from Idealista on @graphext.bsky.social

If you’ve never heard of How To with John Wilson, do yourself a favor and put it on tonight or this weekend on HBO Max. One of the most underrated shows in history.

They’re like mini-documentaries about everyday life in New York.

I love nonfiction books that are under 100 pages.

I’ve downloaded over 2M books and reviews from Goodreads. What I’ve found is that less than 5% of nonfiction books published are under 100 pages.

As you can see in this chart I created with @graphext.bsky.social , they tend to be much more popular!

I have salespeople chasing me all day trying to sell me B2B software through LinkedIn, cold calls while I spend my day chasing plumbers to get things fixed at home. Capitalism is sending a signal, AI writes code so well but robot hands still can’t quite manage to properly connect two pipes!

📣 New paper in Nature Human Behavior @natureportfolio.bsky.social! Using large-scale mobility data, we find how businesses, amenities, and other urban places depend on each other. It reveals connections that aren’t always visible but have substantial economic impacts.

It’s pretty incredible how fast Qatar Airways’ free Wi-Fi with Starlink is. I can’t decide if it’s great or terrible news that the last refuge of disconnection—long-haul flights—is vanishing

November is the month when temperatures in Madrid change the most drastically. They dropped by 33% compared to October.

The data comes from 100 years of temperature readings taken from the AEMET thermometer in El Retiro park, accessed via their API and visualized on @graphext.bsky.social

The thing about agents in the new version of Cursor is crazy. It created a medium-complex functional DBT model using BigQuery data from GA4 in just 3 minutes with a single prompt. It generated all the files, the code, installed packages, and even recovered from errors all on its own…

So many people have tried this before and failed… What Bluesky is achieving is amazing and critical for the future of social media. Truly becoming an open protocol for social networks, like the internet or email itself and easy to use, is no easy task!
Bluesky is a PBC (public benefit corporation) with the mission “to develop and drive large-scale adoption of technologies for open and decentralized public conversation.”

From the start, our goal has been to build a decentralized social network that is usable by the mainstream.
