What a great share on this snowy morning!
For lovers of snow ❄️ I give you the greatest snow ball fight in history. In 1854 300 people including stock brokers went into snowy battle at Liverpool’s Exhange. The Liverpool Mercury reported “Hats flew away, By the force of the ball, From heads that were grey, Or with no hair at all”.

A fascinating discovery here of what seems to be a mass burial pit from 150 years before the arrival of the ‘Black Death’. I’m really intrigued to see what the forensic testing reveals.

In the archives with my ‘Scotland and the Supernatural’ students today. Highlight was this 1st edition of James VI’s Daemonologie (1597), which quite a lot of them already knew as Shakespeare’s source for Scottish witches and necromancy in Macbeth.
