Yesterday, a 5th grader gave me a story he wrote from the POV of a dog, saying he was too scared to read it in front of the class. I told him I get it. That I would've never read in class in 5th grade (or ever).

To whoever needs to hear this... If the story you're writing (or chapter or scene) is extra hard, takes extra long, feels like a slog - for whatever reason - you get bonus points.
