Writer of Colour, Jewels, Brilliant History of Color and the newest one, Fabric. Just arrived on this bluesky planet. Glad to find you all here. Wondered where you’d been.
The Siena show at the National Gallery in London was marvellous. Everything was illuminated. Here’s a Duccio crucifixion triptych.

And there’s nothing like visiting a 5800 year old #LongBarrow for putting things in perspective. I also chose the hour where it was lit up by the sun. Do you spot the #Ammonite?

Thanks Colin. I love how it looks well-read!
Am loving this book by @victoriafinlay.bsky.social about #colour and #pigments in the history of #art

A moment of sunshine on a grey day. Don’t we all want metaphorically to be that house?

Oh my. Imagine finding that beauty! I’ve never seen anything like it.
The extraordinary beauty of this Late Neolithic long-tailed, ripple-flaked oblique arrowhead we excavated from Marden henge, Wiltshire! #FindsFriday 🏺

Yup. And what a pleasure it is.
Because it's always true: "The greatest part of a writer's time is spent in reading, in order to write: a man will turn over half a library to make one book" (Samuel Johnson).
writing is reading one book and three articles to achieve one subordinate clause

I’m remembering the extraordinary #GeorgiaO’Keeffe #HenryMoore show at #BostonMFA I visited a couple of weeks ago. The storytelling was excellent; the juxtapositions delicious.

Hello! Yes, this is the SoA on Bluesky.

We're monitoring and dipping our toes into different social platforms right now, as the great exodus continues.

We may not be too active on here, so if you need us: societyofauthors.org/contact/

I stumbled suddenly upon an orange wood.

In all my time at St Andrews I never found this ancient sacred spring…. Do you know where it is?

OK so in St Andrews last week I might have been seen lurking suspiciously outside a small B&B with half closed curtains… but behind this window many years ago I had an extraordinary life for a year making friends, a magazine, growing up. #revisitingthepast

I heard about bluesky on #bbcradio4 last night while driving home as the cloudy sky turned yellow then grey. I feel like I’m back on Twitter in 2013. Which is a good place.
