- Greatest games media person of all time (no question)
- The funniest person in games media, too
- I like video games a lot, but I'm a normal, well-rounded person as well
- You might also see me talking about Spurs (football), good/bad films/TV, Chris Bratt, and Jim Trinca.
What are the actually good Christmas films? Last year we didn't watch many so I said I'd make a list, and the current list is small.

Amazing, but also sad.

Has Metroid Prime been Jar Jar'd?
"Samus, there's something interesting over there. Are you sure we don't need to use that?"

I feel my soul leave my body...

Metroid Prime 4: Beyond delivers the series' trademark gameplay - but one very annoying addition might derail the whole thing:

Not seen any chat about this (but I'm sure there has been some) - I'm watching Leonard and Hungry Paul on iPlayer in the evenings and it's a wonderful, touching, simple (not a negative) show that couldn't be more different to the average attention-grabbing big hitters of the moment. Big recommend.

What is this little 'turning road' called to the right of the car? This is vital info for an Xbox article I'm writing.

Steam Machine spec seems a little lower than I expected. If I need to go find custom settings from DF for every game it will kind of defeat the purpose of being a more streamlined PC experience.

Bringing back the Steam Machine is great, but where's the Mean Machines revival?

I've written some quite negative articles about Xbox recently (like this - www.eurogamer.net/i-cannot-wor...), which I think have been misinterpreted as a sign I dislike Xbox. I don't, in fact it's because I had such high hopes and expectations for Xbox that the recent lows have felt like such blows
Xbox Series X/S at five years old - at this point is there anything else left to say?
Five years into the Xbox Series X/S lifecycle, and it's time to look at what those years have done to the Xbox brand.

Met Office news editor: "Come on, we need to capitalise on the GTA 6 delay!"

Staffer: "Sun shines to soften GTA 6 delay blow"

Editor: "Brilliant, Gerald, if it wasn't fucking raining, you imbecile!"

Smug staffer: "Rain hits thirsty reservoirs, softening GTA 6 delay blow!"

Me to my daughter: you can be a big girl like Bingo and sleep in your own bed.

This is the best advice. I'm not a brilliant writer, but I'm a lot better than I was largely because I spent a good while in my mid-30s reading a lot. It completely changed my outlook and my writing style. For those in games media, don't limit yourself to games writing.
Unsolicited writing advice, no. 430: Read. Read widely. Read what you love, and what you don't. Read what you know, and what you don't yet know. The wider your reading, the better your chance of avoiding the limitations of being influenced by only one author, one genre, one culture, one time.

As much as I really want this to be good, I can't help but think the bike sections are going to be awful. Nothing in the footage has convinced me otherwise.
