Conditions in Central VA, where we have about a foot of ice on top of the snow. You have to use regular shovel to crack the ice like concrete, then fling the huge chunks away from the place you are trying to clear. It is SLOW GOING, and the roads still aren’t clear 3 days later. ICE OUT!

I see social media as a way to infuse more narrative into situations that have no words. We may have few mental files for this kind of situation, but history knows this place. Too well. Tribalism, fear, propaganda, and the “joiner mentality” can go HORRIBLY WRONG.

We are seeing evidence of what looks like psychological impairment in the DHS agents wherein they have dehumanized the protestors. It LOOKS like they “just wanted (Renee and Alex etc) to stop” so they shot them. They see “liberals” as some sort of parasite unworthy of life. Propaganda at work.

On the weakness of state terror: once ppl internalize the regime's lawless brutality, that they are no safer in their homes than in the streets (& vice versa), and that their unwavering defiance is what confounds & disempowers the regime, they also realize they have nothing to lose but their fear.
