Growing up I was really jealous of the kids who lived in Megadeth homes, but looking back, I'm really grateful we were a Superdeth family.

Starting up a new social media account where I pretend to be a brilliant progressive metal guitarist in a popular Aussie band.

But I'm actually terrible.

Just call me Sham Vallen.

I could never pick a favourite Genesis song, but the moment the mellotron kicks in in the keyboard solo in "Cinema Show" is my fav Genesis moment.

Likewise, can't pick a fav Haken song, but when the vocal hocket "snow is falling" part of Crystallised comes in, yup. Favourite.

Bought tickets to Ghost and Opeth, both playing Vancouver in February.

Two of my favourite bands that I have not seen live yet. Stoked for both shows!

How much art rock cred do I lose if I cop to liking "Avalon" more than "For Your Pleasure"?

Recently I've been seeing lots of music/pop culture accounts that share historical things making the strangest, most irritating grammar error, writing "Today in 1972, Pink Floyd released DSOTM" or "Today in 2009 Michael Jackson died"

Stop this madness. Today means today. You mean "on this day..."

Wrote and recorded the first song for the next Versa album, and it'll probably end up being the final track on the album.

Asking Libertarians "Should people be able to sell themselves into slavery?" is like Kirk posing paradoxes to evil robots.

I respect the 10,000 years of hard work by our ancestors to develop roads, sanitation, agriculture, and housing too much to go camping.

Listening to "Just Like Heaven" by the Cure and thinking about how erotic that song is, but also if it was written by a modern pop artist, the lyrics would just be something like "yo my girl loves when I finger that wet-ass pussy"

with all due respect to Liam Neeson and Leslie Nielsen.

You guys hear that Steven Wilson's next album is going to be a concept album about Marcel Marceau?

It's going to be called "Grace for Clowning"

Confession: I don't really like any of David Bowie's albums that much until he switched from his nasal tenor register into his baritone register. After that it's all aces.
