chapter 3 getting so long that I've just had to cut it in two... damnit.

so now I have 2 new chapters that I can release on Sunday, if I get the time to tidy up some things and do some rewriting to fit things in better.

Persistence of Vision - kae_verens - Wattpad
Tomaso Ascheri was born in fifteenth-century Italy and cannot die. For centuries, he has searched for the reason why. Why does he survive everything? As a witn...

chapter 2

www.wattpad.com/1588221814-p...

I know the writing is unpolished. I want to get the story out of me, and then come back afterwards and clean it up. I honestly feel there is a unique idea in this, despite the clumsiness of its delivery.
Persistence of Vision - Apple - Wattpad
Read Apple from the story Persistence of Vision by kae_verens with 3 reads. quantumphysics, immortality. Orla pushed the door and the bell rang. She held it op...

used an infrared camera earlier yesterday to find a cold spot in my shed, insulated it, and now it's 25C in the shed with just my computer and a dehumidifier running.

I might have over-insulated this thing

every time I upgrade Fedora, I have to spend a day hammering at it to get it to boot into the new system.

it's *alway* because of Nvidia.

do they not test with Nvidia hardware in RedHat/Fedora before they encourage the entire world to upgrade?

daylight savings sucks.

my phone says it's 5, the clock on the wall says 6, and my body thinks it's 7

cholesterol's a bit high. I don't drink or smoke, I'm vegan, and I'm in the gym at least once per week.

what other sacrifice does the universe demand from me this time?

...

gave up cheese when I went vegan. looks like I also need to give up vegan cheese.

I have most of a plot for a gothic book. not quite horror, not quite sci-fi.

unfortunately the central concept is quantum immortality, which is hard to explain to people.

oh well. the idea is stuck in my head. let's see what happens when I start writing...

found out the hard way that TiDB has recently become incompatible with CentOS.

if you search for "tidb hardware recommendations" in Google, it will lead you to a page recommendING CentOS. but now check the *latest* documentation, and it states that it is NOT compatible.

A.E. Van Vogt's The Secret Galactic (1974).

it's a bit of a mess. the "science" in this fiction is not explained, and vaguely described so we don't even know what's supposed to have happened anyway.

didn't like.

reminded me of Agatha Christie's Postern Of Fate, to be honest...

It certainly appears the United States murdered an innocent fisherman who was a husband and father to four children, claimed he was a "narco-terrorist," posted a video of the execution, and then made jokes about it

when someone says "that bullet had my name on it", they mean the bullet was aimed at them.

so if a bullet says "anti-ICE", then it is to be shot at soneone that is anti-ICE, right?

and if the only people that got shot were ICE detainees, it seems to me that this is on purpose...

I do like finding mad books. was almost certain I already had Chariots Of The Gods, but when I went looking for it recently, it wasn't on my "crazy shelf". unfortunately it's a late edition, but beggars can't be choosers! I'll find a better one eventually. only 1eu to buy!

bought a new camera (Canon EOS R7) to upgrade from my 2000D. wanted new lenses, and quieter body (squirrels and birds spook easy!)

quick test from my kitchen window, showing 4 photos - my phone, phone zoomed, 2000D, R7. no processing other than cropping and resizing so all are the same height.

watched The Running Man yesterday fir the first time, and it's amazing how many dystopian 70s/80s films got it right...

morern politics involves blatantly lying about what is happening, while cherrypicking moments to paint a good person bad.

in a way it even predicted AI video fakes.
