#handsoff My mom asked why black people decided to sit this one out. She reminded me that Cory and Obama were speakers. She has made efforts to learn anti-racism but her conditioning resists the info, requiring me to meticulously explain. I don’t mind this. It’s MUCH better than a lack of curiosity…

#handsoff Here in Chicago we had less than a third of the turnout of the 2003 anti-invasion or the 2016 women’s march. 30k is the same as any weekend anti-gun protest in Orlando, FL. In contrast to those it got way more media attention/ including mainstream.

Still mostly bedridden so I missed the #handsoff protest and it’s a good thing too. I’m pissed at the bouginess, low turnout and lack of experienced organizers.

How much of how you behave in the bedroom with a partner or partners is influenced by porn? My educated guess: whether you consume it regularly (or ever!) or not almost every sex act we experience is shaped by the legacy of past and present sex work.

Angry that medical marijuana wasn’t available to me in the hospital after surgery. Had opioid-resistant pain and only got relief from cannibinoids.

We deserve deeper, more genuine love-making that provoked more than shame and resonates beyond a chemical release. Decolonizing the industry as it’s vilified and dismantled by religious groups will be an important task this year. I am excited to expand my network and contribute to the cause. #sexed

So it’s grooming us all into thinking things are sexy that are increasingly gross and outdated. There needs to be a platform to openly discuss the specifics of how it’s run by viagra-soaked capitalists and criminals.

But everything in me rebels against these systems. If we can’t change our sex lives we can’t stop rape culture or gain our rights. We can’t keep pretending that modern porn isn’t part of mainstream culture - or that 99% of it is produced by straight men

The censorship that drove me to this platform to even talk about this when the word sex can get you banned! I grew up watching #drruth calmly discuss orgasms on daytime tv. Now we’re facing a total pornography ban with project 2025 by the end of the year.
