Love, Grief and Acceptance. Anyone who attended the #NATP it was the eloquent, calm and soft tone from an autistic ADHD mother sharing her journey with her autistic daughter in a crisis.

Hope for practice that improves outcomes for all is stronger when programmes like NATP upskill staff to understand autism, ethnicity and culture.

It is particularly important to understand the impact of standardised language in autism.

repeated full days of training on autism, ethnicity and culture ● include speakers from different ethnic backgrounds ● attention to the narratives of ppl from global majority in relation to ND ● open to dialogue and challenge status quo was evident in every session ● safe and reflective spaces for all to learn ● intersectionality is not just one module- its threads run consistently throughout all modules of the curriculum with vignettes, examples etc ● the National Autism Trainer Programme team has repeatedly supported clinicians on how this can be done in your service by suggesting: ■ special interest groups in intersectionality and autism ■ audits for anti-oppressive practice ■ attention to narratives and mindsets of change more broadly

Poster for Exploring Being Autistic - Wokingham. For anyone who is 18 or over and is autistic (or thinks they might be). This is a chance to meet other autistic people and explore what autism means for you. This programme aims to build upon self-compassion by identifying strengths and mitigating challenges.
