Political Disaffection is defined by a feeling of alienation/dissatisfaction with the political system, its institutions, and political elites. It can include a lack of trust in government, a sense of powerlessness and/or engagement yet without rejecting the regime itself.

The office of POTUS wasn’t meant to be as singularly powerful as it is and it is because it’s easier to think of power as one person rather than a shared responsibility Americans let it happen.
