The man who introduced children (and the world) to "grab 'em by the pussy" fired Dr. Carla Hayden as the Librarian of Congress because she was allegedly "putting inappropriate books in the Library for children." [A thread.]

DOGE showed up at the Library of Congress today and were escorted out by the U.S. Capitol Police. And Trump appointed Todd Blanche - his former hush money attorney - to be Acting Librarian of Congress. Trump seeks to exploit and destroy one of our nation's greatest treasures.

We the People will unite, and resist, and hold politicians accountable for their oaths to defend the Constitution. This ambulatory preamble was in a march that culminated in a rally at the White House, with speakers including Kilmar Abrego García's wife, Jennifer Vasquez Sura. #MayDay2025

Dozens of police arrested Rev. William Barber and two others for praying in the U.S. Capitol Rotunda. They prayed for a moral budget, and on behalf of those who would be harmed by proposed cuts. Police first expelled everyone else, including credentialed press.

Big thanks to all who turned out for today's Hands Off! protests in DC and beyond. So many creative and effective signs. I was filming, so I needed my hands free. But sometimes, a shirt will suffice.

The world's most powerful man and the world's richest man, both of whom are walking conflicts of interest, are striving to delete USAID. And this is only the beginning.

Though they may rue having first attacked those who know how to confront and defeat authoritarian regimes.

Great turnout - including 31 members of Congress - at today's protest at the Treasury Department. Took this during an inspirational speech by Rep. Jamie Raskin, who was also at yesterday's USAID protest. He began with "We've got to keep meeting like this."

Equal justice under law.

In theory.

The future is cloudy, and not in a good way.

But in the meanwhile, I'll at least enjoy this view of the Supreme Court and skies today, at 40 minutes until sunset.

DC didn't get much snow today after all. But for a while, the snow fell so intensely, and with such big flakes, that I felt like we were in a snow globe. Pic taken at 4:45 PM. @capitalweather.bsky.social
