The government is happy to lock kids up at 10 but will not allow kids on social media till they're 16.
NSW Premier Chris Minns says the same protests “weekend after weekend” are too disruptive and he will crack down on them.

1. Protests are meant to raise awareness + disrupt, so they’re working

2. We’d have fewer protests if the government didn’t support genocide

The One Nation vote is at an all time high.

It’s clear Parliament platforms Islamophobia by platforming Pauline Hanson.

If Albanese is concerned about “social cohesion” then this means addressing Islamophobia through education, not dangerous and divisive hate speech laws.

One Nation just called to end all Muslim migration and “net zero” migration. Their vote is at an all time high.

It’s clear Parliament platforms Islamophobia by platforming Pauline Hanson.

Albanese’s concerns about “social cohesion” must address Islamophobia and educate Australians on anti-racism.

The major parties used the anti-Semitic attack in Bondi to advance their political agenda.

Instead of “social cohesion” we saw
- divisive and dangerous hate speech laws pass
- the Coalition choosing to implode on the Day of Mourning.

We need leadership not petty fighting.
January 22, 2026 at 8:47 AM
Mum wake up, the Coalition is fighting again.

In all seriousness, these laws haven’t satisfied any party’s asks and rushing through this legislation has just led to danger and divisiveness.

This isn’t the way to bring social cohesion.

Victoria has faced blazing bushfires and unprecedented floods in less than one week.

This is not normal.

The Prime Minister’s thoughts and prayers won’t help. Tangible policy is what we are desperate for.

The National Day of Mourning for the Bondi attack shows us the government’s power to change/abolish Australia Day.

But instead, they’ve ignored calls from many First Nations Peoples to:

- stop celebrating colonialism + genocide; and

- abolish/replace it with a Day of Mourning/Survival Day.

A huge win that Adelaide Writers’ Festival's racist decision led to its cancellation.

An absolute shame that our institutions make us choose between racism and sharing art and the power of storytelling.
January 13, 2026 at 9:35 AM
The reaction to the Adelaide Writers’ Festival’s racist decision shows us the power of people:

- over 100 authors have withdrawn, including a former Prime Minister

- organisations and sponsors withdrew

- the chair and 4 board members resigned

Now the event’s viability is being questioned.

“The prime minister, Anthony Albanese, told Victorians: “We’ve got your back”.”

This coming from the PM who approved the extension of Woodside’s North West Shelf project, which is expected to generate 4 billion tonnes of emissions over 50 years, further fuelling these fires.
January 11, 2026 at 6:32 AM
The Coalition made a fuss about dropping net zero by 2050, but has said little to nothing about the bushfires costing livelihoods, homes, and 1000s of taxpayer dollars.

A bare minimum policy to mitigate the severity and frequency of fires is supposedly “too radical.”
January 9, 2026 at 7:08 AM
National Royal Commissions cost between $30 - $600 million, can take years, and their impact is questionable.

Albanese has caved to the Murdoch media’s call instead of making informed policy decisions.

The RC into anti-Semitism delays calls for real justice for all.

~80% of emergency services personnel during the 2019/20 bushfires volunteered - earning $0.

We’ll likely see the same in 2026.

Meanwhile, in 2024, CEOs of companies fuelling these fires earned:
- Rio Tinto: $9.2 million
- Santos: $8.4 million
- Woodside: $7.45 million
- Whitehaven: $6.6 million

Several parts of Australia are likely to face the worst heatwaves since the 2019/2020 bushfires.

Volunteers and underpaid frontline workers will step up to help communities.

Meanwhile, in just one year, the Australian government gave $14.9 billion in subsidies to fossil fuel producers and users.

If you think Trump's comments about capturing oil in V aren't sincere because the country has bad, old and inefficient fossil infrastructure, I regret to inform you that all fossil fuel infrastructure is bad, old and inefficient and none of these people actually care about the process or product

Trump taking control of Venezuela shows us why we need to fight for climate justice.

Venezuela has the most oil reserves in the world, and the US has the power to lead on renewable and just energy sources, but is choosing imperialism to extract and pollute instead.

FYI, (since mainstream media isn’t reporting it):

- Israel banned humanitarian agencies from Gaza on 1 Jan. This includes Doctors Without Borders, Oxfam and Caritas

- Since the October “ceasefire”, Israel has killed over 400 Palestinians and injured over 1000 Palestinians.

Activists to bring constitutional legal case against the Labor government’s new laws banning protests for up to 3 months, claiming they infringe on the implied right of free speech.

Palestine Action Group Sydney, Jews Against the Occupation and Blak Caucus will bring a claim after the laws pass.

Chris Minns’ ban on protests calling for an end to the genocide in Gaza does not foster “community harmony".

These protests oppose anti-Semitism and call for peace.

Taking our democratic rights away is only sowing more division.
December 21, 2025 at 8:21 AM
Chris Minns is using Sunday’s tragic events to introduce anti-protest laws in the name of “community harmony”.

Over 20 years, ~50 laws affecting our democratic right to protest have been introduced.

That does not foster harmony.

Taking action on anti-semitism and Islamophobia can.
December 18, 2025 at 9:15 AM
We should be supporting the Jewish community and working to combat anti-semitism.

But some in power are instead spewing misinformation and conflating peaceful pro-Palestine marches with the horrifying attack.

We can call out anti-semitism without suppressing the call for a Free Palestine

Sending so much love to folks in and around Bondi.

Please don’t share graphic footage and know that times like these are no excuse for racism or abusing a minority group - am already seeing this online in comment sections and it happens every time.
December 14, 2025 at 10:37 AM
Well, sounds like it’s time to change the rules then, hey?

Doesn’t seem fair that folks like health care workers can’t even get a pay rise, but politicians can claim $8,500 for family travel to the AFL.
