A pair of texts I received tonight. The first reads, "Hey Wesley I'm not sure if you've read about how severe the fires here were but if you're willing, since I don't have a following, if anyone would like to donate or Venmo- i'd like to go buy a bunch of supplies for donation specifically menstrual hygiene stuff & pet food for all of the displaced pets that got lost. No pressure at all, I'm doing it anyway, but anything that anyone would like to contribute helps!!!" The second says, "I like to be kind of anon so if anyone would like to Venmo or cash app you, you can just transfer. Lmk if you can help <3" A screenshot depicting the end of my reply text and a response to it which includes a photo. The final sentence of my text says, "Would you be willing to show receipts after the fact in case people are skeptical/want proof?" The reply says, "Sure, yeah. Honestly anything at all helps and no worries if you can't or don't want to. Even $20 could get some tampons/wipes or whatnot. Also here is a photo of what we already bought!" Attached to the message is a photo of a shopping cart filled with wipes, toothpaste, toothbrushes, deodorant, and similar toiletries and hygiene/grooming supplies.
