Beautiful and fast moving clouds this brisk morning. Thanks all that bought calendars btw, I’ll get them out early this week! #pleinair #sunrise

I’ve just gotten word that these two have landed in their new home safe and sound, and the owner thinks they’re even more beautiful in person. It’s impossible to get photos exactly as they would appear in your space but I’m always happy to share more pics and answer questions!

It’s mornings like this that make me wish I was free to paint all day 🥹, then I remember I need money and health insurance. Absolutely gorgeous out!!! At the end, a fog drifted in and it was beautiful in every direction. Epic cloud formations too! #pleinair #painting

I’ve done a few paintings this week but have been too tired to share. They’re all just “okay” in my mind, but it’s always nice to get out and paint. The morning colors are always a treat. #pleinair #painting

It’s pure torture not having the time to paint when autumn is at its peak. 🥺 Managed to get out this morning though. Watching the leaves fly in the wind like glitter with every breeze never gets old. #autumn #pleinair #gouache

A beautiful day off. A moment to kick my feet up and relax, and also sneak in a painting. I beelined to Heather Farms to paint roses, and despite a cloudy forecast it ended up being almost TOO sunny and hot. Not complaining though, every second was enjoyed. #pleinair #roses #painting

The skies have been sooo gorgeous these past few mornings, but this was the first one that I could paint before the colors were gone. Not as vibrant as the other mornings but still awe-inspiring. Of course we included the morning birds. #pleinair #painting #sunrise

Some recent painting sales 🥹🥹🥹. So grateful, so honored. The world is a tough place right now, so these moments are extra meaningful and bright. Thank you so much for letting my work shine in your homes.

Back working with a dream client/realtor/neighbor that has me paint custom gifts. It’s SO much fun. This homeowner just sold their home, and one particularly special place was their custom kitchen. Lemons for a splash of color, coincidentally the tree outside looks like a lemon. #painting #gouache

Happy Halloween! Not a pumpkin, but still something orange. This little raccoon is wondering how he’s going to fit this in his non-existent mouth.

While Jon and the pups hiked the trails, I did two little sunrise paintings. It’s nice to have a change of scenery and a little extra sleep this morning. #pleinair #sunrise

The cows and coyotes were feasting this morning. There was a quick fading fog covering the field which made for a fun different take of this composition. Included the coyote family that was hunting in the mist. #pleinair #painting

I almost turned to go home because it would be 30 mins sitting in the parking lot before sunrise 😅. Instead I just wandered around in the half-dark and found the most beautiful little rose. No sunlight but still worth painting. #rose #pleinair #painting

Painted these rotten half eaten pomegranates this morning. It seemed appropriate for the times. I am bummed I didn’t have more time with them, but they were already starting to mold and become hazardous 😅. #stilllife #painting #allaprima

Doing more still life’s since it’s now too dark in the morning to paint before work. Luckily our satsuma tree has a ton of fruit this year so we have lots of subject matter. #painting #stilllife #sunflowers

Just a baby painting this morning. It’s too dark in the am to do plein air now, but at least we have lots of cute things inside to paint. I made that little vase! It is a new favorite. #painting #ceramics #bird

I almost never work on a painting over one session, but this is an exception. Not sure if I will just finish it in the studio since it was pretty unpleasant to be under all the freeway noise 😅. It’s a good start though, I think! 22x28” #pleinair

On this episode of Artist Hoarders, you’ll see me finally using this giant ass easel that has been in a corner for many years among a sad collection of cardboard boxes, old mats, and lamps. I didn’t get around to this painting yet but at least it is ready.

Longer nights. The moon and stars were still shining bright after my workout. By the time I drove to the park the moon was still up and by the time I finished the painting, the light hadn’t even touched the leaves. 🥺 I guess my morning paintings will just be a little darker this month. #pleinair

Cat angels everywhere 🥺. I wasn’t expecting a tearful painting session but the penultimate episode of WTF with Marc Maron was so bittersweet. Sigh. Anyway, enjoy the morning birds (just have to put the wires in) and a young coyote on the hunt. #pleinair
