❄️Sir Windy's Winter Journey❄️

Last art of the year, and a fun piece! This was a commission for @hamishsteele.bsky.social as a Christmas gift for @lukehealy.bsky.social of his DnD character.
An illustration of a portly and very top heavy knight with walrus like moustaches atop a grey donkey. He has a ruddy complexion, plate armour over extravagantly puffed blue sleeves and orange trousers, with tan gloves & boots. A green feather sticks out the back of his hounskull bascinet which has the visor lifted. Both knight & donkey wear ruff collars. The donkey has a red saddle & reins with bells on the nose band and a blue saddle cloth with decorative stars. They are in a snowy landscape, the footprints show they have been walking in circles. Behind is a stone wall and behind that evergreen trees & snowy ruins far off in the distance against the dusk. The illustrated border is of tangled holly & ivy plants entwining around spoons. At the bottom is a heraldic shield of a steaming wooden bathtub on blue.

Not had time for a new holiday piece but I still really like this wintry 1800s butchfemme couple that I never shared here.
A oval wreath of bare twigs tied with a red ribbon at the bottom. Within is a snowy landscape from above of English fields. In the foreground a butchfemme lesbian couple in early 1800s dress are flying as they hold each other and the butch kisses the femme on the cheek.

"This impressive painting by Goya was part of a series of six on the theme of witchcraft commissioned by the Dukes of Osuna to decorate their "El Capricho" estate near Madrid. The main character in the scene is the devil, depicted as a large male goat who is being given two boys as an offering. It depicts an episode inspired by the 1610 Logroño auto-da-fé, and this set of paintings as a whole is considered to be a satirical criticism of the superstitions of the educated society to which the Dukes of Osuna and the painter belonged." 💀The Ghostly Galliard💀
