They will just spend a few hours acting deaf to whatever you say and repeating the few homophobic statements they know over and over again. These types of people are always whining about how "the gays are shoving their propaganda into our faces" But I've never seen anyone from the LGBTQ+ community shoving any leaflets to random rollerskaters at a park, like these homophobes do.
