For far too many families, the cost of childcare is driving them out of the city they love.

New Yorkers deserve to be able to afford to raise families here.

I want to be clear that the House passing the government funding bill tonight does not mean the fight for health care is over, far from it.

We get louder, we fight harder—and we make our voices heard at the ballot box to win power and help people.

@chrislhayes.bsky.social, for some of us, this was never about the optics of making healthcare an issue.

This was about preventing a premium spike for 20 million Americans.

The private insurance system is broken.

This is the time we need to be screaming from the rooftops:

Medicare for All!

On Veterans Day, we honor those who served and commit to serving them in return — not just in words, but in actions.

Affordability and a real commitment to mental health are essential to ensure that every veteran can build a future here in New York City.

An agreement to agree to do a later vote is NOT an enforceable contract so what in the actual hell are Americans getting out of this deal??

Eight centrist Democratic senators just voted to reopen the government in exchange for a promise of a Senate vote on ACA subsidies.
That’s not a deal—it’s surrender.
They’ve given up real leverage
for a handshake agreement that might never happen./🧵

Take Action:

1. Full Black Out: Don’t buy anything from capitulating major stores 11/28-12/1. Connect with those you love + rediscover what matters.

2. Redirect Spending: Shop small, local, or with businesses affirming our humanity.

3. Pledge to be a conscious consumer.

4. Spread the word.

Tonight’s Senate vote on the federal government shutdown should have been a time for strength.

Instead we saw capitulation and a betrayal of working Americans.

The American people need more from their leaders.

Maybe I’m late to this realization, but it just hit me…

What are the odds that Speaker Johnson calls the House back for a CR vote with the Epstein files still hanging over his head?

Those 8 Dems might have hung themselves out to dry and risked being primaried for nothing.
