It’s great to see this kind of progress in developing HALEU fuel for commercial reactors, but reactor.engr.wisc.edu has been doing critical experiments with HALEU for 15 years (as have many other research reactors around the country)

Happy December 2nd, a day that marks the first man-made nuclear chain reaction (CP-1, 1942) and the first chain reaction in the first purely civilian nuclear power plant exactly 15 years later (Shippingport, 1957).
