Which regions are driving growth in UK #TNE? 📈

In five years, Asia has seen the largest growth in absolute terms, with 106,415 additional TNE students (+46.7%). Meanwhile, the Middle East has recorded the fastest growth in percentage terms, rising by 57.7%.

UK providers continue to deliver TNE at a scale that suits their strategic priorities and resources.

In 2023–24, 79.2% of TNE providers had under 5,000 TNE students; 36 providers had over 5,000 TNE students; and 18 providers had over 10,000 TNE students.

For the past decade, UK #TNE student numbers have grown substantially across all study levels. 📈

From 2014–15 to 2023–24, TNE student growth reached +66.0% for undergraduate, +80.6% for postgraduate taught, and +48.6% for postgraduate research students.

UK HE providers continue to offer world-leading in-person and distance #TNE. 🌍

In 2023–24:
• 653,570 students studied on UK TNE courses
• 491,765 studied in person, 161,805 via distance
• 231 countries & territories hosted distance TNE vs 176 for in-person TNE
