We'll start w/ a 30 min. talk from the SCCJ's Prof. Kim Retzlaff, retired OPD Sergeant. Prof. Retzlaff will cover working stalking cases during her time with OPD. Students can make a "sparkle for anti-stalking awareness" bracelet and sign an anti-stalking pledge. Snacks provided!

Text reads: Dr. Todd Armstrong is Interim Director of the School of Criminology and Criminal Justice and his research investigates the nature and origins of criminal propensity with an emphasis on biological contributions to traits associated with increased risk for criminal behavior. Dr. Armstrong's recent contributions include the first paper to investigate the joint influence of hormones and autonomic function on risk for criminal behavior, and a paper testing the association between the interaction of testosterone with cortisol and psychopathic traits.

Dr. Jessica Deitzer is Assistant Professor and her research centers on how individuals make decisions about crime and how personal, social, and environmental factors influence these choices, especially in adolescence. She takes a multi-faceted approach to studying criminal decision-making, with both quantitative and qualitative research published in top criminology journals. Dr. Deitzer is currently working on projects aimed at determining how decisions evolve over time - including what is behind the decision to enter (or avoid) risky social contexts where crime is especially likely.
