Text reads: The US has launched an unprovoked and illegal attack on Venezuela with the bombing of the capital Caracas and the alleged kidnap of the Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro and his family. This is an act of war that puts the lives of millions of people at risk — and should be condemned by anyone who believes in sovereignty and international law. We totally condemn this illegal attack on a sovereign nation. As with the war on Iraq, this is a brazen attempt to secure control over Venezuelan natural resources. Trump's call for regime change is about control of Venezuela’s oil - the largest reserves in the world. General federation of trade unions, gftu.org.uk. Text reads: In the face of this imperialist aggression by the US, we must mobilise in active solidarity with the Venezuelan people and call on the British government to condemn the actions of the US. The international community must stand in solidarity with the Venezuelan people and must react without delay via the UN to this scandalous aggression, which is aggravating an already tense international situation. The General Federation of Trade Unions reaffirms its commitment to democracy, the right of people to self-determination, peace and the protections provided by international law.
