I'm so happy with the new Speedometer demo that is part of @slint.dev 1.14. It took around a day to complete and this video shows the jump from the first hour or so, to when I finished polishing things. You can play with the demo or see the code here docs.slint.dev/latest/demos...

Often want to quickly jump to the documentation for specific core @slint.dev elements? LSP's and VScode have many ways to help here, but this simple change allows a CTRL click to open the web docs #slint_ui

The official documentation for writing VScode extensions isn’t great. This is one problem AI does help with.

This is going to be huge. Deploy your Slint app to iOS via a standard Xcode project. Easily share it via TestFlight and even publish to the App store. Lots to do and this version is missing some features such as safe area support. But it’s already a big step to full cross platform #Slint support.
slint.dev Slint @slint.dev · May 26
Is that a #Slint app running on an iPad? We just took a big bite from the cross platform🍎. Without changes to the Slint code you can generate an Xcode project and run applications like the Home Automation demo on an iPad or iPhone.
Shipping soon as a preview as part of Slint 1.12.

Getting older is weird. Not long till I hit 50 and I’ve never enjoyed coding more. Constantly finding more things to learn, new skills to stretch and cool nerd projects to read about.

I just watched one where the Doctor invents his own fake holodeck family. It’s too good so he changes it. His wife then wants to leave him, his son hates him and it ends with them all distraught as his fake daughter dies after an accident in front of them. Totally bonkers TV.

I didn’t enjoy Star Trek Voyager when it came out and didn’t watch much of it. I’m now binging it and it’s good! But some episodes are insane.

Not finished, but the new Slint gradient editor is coming together. The old UI on the right, while the new more intuitive floating panel is to the centre. While there is a lot of things that are easier to edit as code, tweaking @linear-gradeint(90deg, #FF0000 0%, #000000 100%) needs a visual tool.

I made a plugin for Figma! For someone that thinks web tech is often 🤮, I sure seem to be writing a lot of web code 🤣

We now have a Figma plugin! This extends Figma 'Dev Mode', and clicking any item in your file will show reusable Slint code.

To see how easy it is to use and how it can help your developers match the UX your designer created, see this video: youtu.be/TcfWyHUkpBE
