This idea of micro data centres in people’s homes to use the waste heat for heating is fascinating:

I loved the beauty of boxfish when I went diving on the barrier reef, the natural yet geometric patterns fascinated me. Now scientists have modelled how it forms using Turing Patterns - www.nytimes.com/2025/11/06/s...

Not sure the #radiohead approach to ticketing has stopped the scalper scum... what was the thinking here? 🤯

Maybe all these tickets will be cancelled just for being listed and put up for sensible fan resale 🤞

Thoughtful opinions on how we all feel poorer as we compete for limited resources (eg, space to build homes) with the super rich who outbid us. Now this includes political influence - see Musk - to stop wealth taxes by deflection to "immigrants steal your job"

Speaking of the 2000s.. it gave us the music of Pink, still going strong with 35m monthly listeners on Spotify (bravo!). Though as a person with voice controlled devices and a two year old I wonder how many of those are requests from rainbow / colour obsessed children.. 🌈

I was in the first half million folks to join Twitter in the mid 2000s, a time of huge optimism for how social would make the world a better place. So it’s been hugely depressing to see it descend into and now encourage the darker tendencies of us humans. So it’s goodbye Xitter (aka, “shitter”) 👋

In the world of reducing human emissions - generating electricity from the methane of landfill decomposition sounds like a great idea. Like many good ideas as they hit reality it would be helped if governments aided the cost of setup: reasonstobecheerful.world/landfills-co...
Could a Landfill Power Your Home?
Trash emits methane, a potent greenhouse gas. Some of the biggest landfills in the US are converting that gas into energy.
