As of today, 5/7/25, I have been married for 20 years. Not sure how much attention that will draw on this particular platform, but it’s important to me, so there it is. The long-form post about this can be found on my FB page, sparingly as I post there. 😊

www.thedailybeast.com/trump-lawyer... Oh dear, you mean you supported/defended Trump... and then his administration screwed you over anyway? Well, who saw that coming? Oh right, everyone who had the good sense not to vote for him. FAFO!

Actually not bad advice. I've abandoned some books midway through, some of which I've come back to after completing others, and some I've never to return to, at least not yet. Regardless of subject, some books are just good reads, and others are slogs. It happens.
You shouldn’t finish every book you start.

Abandoning a book is not an admission of failure—it’s a sign of wisdom. You’ve decided to let go of sunk costs.

The purpose of reading is to be entertained and informed. If a book doesn't bring joy or insight, it’s time to move on.

Possibly unpopular opinion here: Moving the start of Daylight Savings Time to the second weekend in March was the dumbest thing this country has ever done.

Well… okay, maybe the second dumbest.

More proof that this administration and its lapdogs (hand-picked media or otherwise) do not take their jobs, the situation at hand, or the advancing the cause of freedom here or abroad seriously. The worst part is that I'm not even surprised. Almost wondering why poor Zelensky even bothered.
The guy who asked Zelensky if he owned a suit, Brian Glenn, is a reporter for the pro-Trump media network Real America’s Voice and also Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene's boyfriend. He got one of the rare Oval Office interviewer spots only after the White House blocked the Associated Press.

Well, doesn’t this sound fun.

How long do you suppose it will be now before we’re all drinking Brawndo and using it to water our crops?
Everything fascists do only makes any logical sense if what they were doing was the exact opposite of what they are doing, for example, it would make sense to send the FBI after the UFC, bc of all the likely crimes, but it makes no sense to have the UFC train the FBI

Think it might be time to get my own subscription. Real journalism isn’t just about being granted “access” to buildings and meetings but digging and finding things out in ways no one else does. Keep it up, WIRED.

💪 you heard that right
I had the privilege of talking to @apnews.com about WIRED's Elon Musk and politics coverage.

Most important thing: We're not slowing down, we're not stopping, and we're going to cover this story, relentlessly, for as long as we need to.

Angus King 2028. I’m not kidding. Seriously, can the Dems endorse this guy for President now?

I know, ironic that his name happens to be King. But here we are.

Watch this whole thing. All 26 minutes. And make it go viral. It’s riveting. And it’s clear that this guy gets it.

www.nytimes.com/athletic/614... Wow. End of an era. Although if I'm being honest, this doesn't sadden me. ESPN's insistence on interviewing players while they're in the field had already sworn me off of watching Sunday Night Baseball. Maybe whoever takes their place will just focus on, um, the game?

Not really a surprise if you've been paying attention. Snyder laid all this out in his 2018 book The Road to Unfreedom. Trump now appears to be working from the Putin disinformation playbook.
Trump is simply repeating a Putin talking point here. Russia has insisted on intervening in basic issues of Ukrainian sovereignty for more than a decade. Now Trump is doing Putin’s PR work, making unsustainable arguments for an unjustifiable invasion.

From Shenandoah National Park last summer. I post because anyone who doesn’t understand the magnificence of our national parks and how important it is for them to be fully staffed should get a clue. Better yet, go and visit one and see what I mean.

Just gave a “peace out” notice on FB. Not deleting, just logging out, resisting all the temptation/doom, etc., scrolling for now. Hoping to inspire others. In the meantime, if any of my handful of followers here have ideas for how I can make the most of this place they call BlueSky, I’m all ears.
