My obsessive approach to perfect winter paths is let loose in Council this week, described as “Magnificent” by an opponent from across the room which is the best of all complements 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Cllr Tom calls4 a “Mum’s and Dad’s Army” of local snow clearing volunteers to help clear footways & paths next winter ❄️💪
- doing things differently, getting a bit of community spirit going, making sure older residents aren’t cut off when snow comes

Brings back some great memories winter in NYC, the bin wagon snow ploughs storming up the avenues
We're getting a snowstorm tomorrow. But New York City is prepared.

No drama, no chasing headlines, and not forgetting that this is a place where the community wants children to be looked after as well as the concerns of adults.

There’s been a lot of talk the last few days, together with some sloppy journalism, about “Parking in Tynemouth”
Our priorities:
• Stop Dangerous Parking near our schools
• Put people first in our village centre
• Efficient & rational management of our streets, be it trees, parking, speeds, anything

Watched this just now, one shot through windscreen, two shots fired through the passenger window straight into this poor woman. Just don’t know what to say really, imagine a paramilitary force showing up in your town & gunning someone down like this?
Google the video & see for yourself.

This is not law enforcement. This is murder.

Sickening.

Tynemouth on the front page of the new National Road Safety Strategy! Do you recognise any of the people pictured?
Still reading through but there’s some great stuff in there including better guidance on reducing traffic speed & a Safe Systems Approach. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

Enjoy the snow, #tynemouth. Some info below on council gritting & also what you can do yourself. It will freeze overnight, we hold a very small stock of grit ourselves locally so if in the morning you spot somewhere especially hazardous ❄️🧊⚠️ please message us & will see if we can help.

If someone offered you a silver bullet that would drop the traffic speed outside your house by 5mph, would you fire🔥it?

How many politicians are psychopaths?
Dark Triad traits are over-represented in positions of power. Are the halls of Congress and Parliament overrun with psychopaths?

Feeling quite sorry for those who’ve spent their time & money going to Liverpool this week. Contrasts with the military precision with which my local branch of the Labour Party have been arranging our Xmas Party, which isn’t in a brewery this time but maybe we’ll do that next year?

Nigel Never Knew Nathan, Russians, you say?”

Old Nigel stood puffed by the Channel’s blue air,
With a pint and a grin and a well-practised stare.

I barely recall who this Nathan chap was!”
