ICYMI: a wonderful conversation between @jessejohnson.bsky.social & @tylermpoetry.bsky.social about their books, "Mettlework" and "Bomb Cloud" -- poet-memoirists, they spoke to the differences in genre, writing styles, and those brilliant moments of discovery. #poetry #memoir

It was truly special leading Sunday’s poetry Dream Walk at the Guggenheim among Rashid Johnson's "A Poem for Deep Thinkers" and artwork in the permanent collection. I'm so grateful to the Museum for having me and to Traci Brimhall for inviting me and creating the program. @guggenheim.bsky.social

I’m so grateful to the editors of @westbranchmagazine.bsky.social for saying yes to my idea about soliciting essays about LA after the Eaton and Palisades fires. Thank you, Lynn Melnick, Barret Baumgart, and Jessica Abughattas, for your amazing essays: westbranch.blogs.bucknell.edu/guest-editor...

I’m a scientist working on dark matter and neutron stars and I wouldn’t be who I am today without Langston Hughes, Duke Ellington, Haile Germima, Toni Morrison, Jane Austen, A.A. Milne, Errol Morris, Star Trek, Herman Melville, Lorna Simpson, Edward Lear, Tina Turner, and so many others.
Hey, artists, in case you were wondering if your work matters: I'm a scientist working on climate change and biodiversity, and I would not be who I am today without The Lorax, The Secret of NIMH, Watership Down, The Last Unicorn, and The X-Files. I know I'm not alone. Thank you for all you do.

Today, I learned The Bomb Cloud is on the Southwest Books of the Year 2025 for Adults — a staff-created list from Pima County Public Library! 📚 🌵 🏜️

I’m grateful to the panelists, Pima County Public Library, everyone checking books out of libraries right now, and Unbound Edition Press.
