Wow! A must listen!
Sir Ian McKellen performing a monologue from Shakespeare’s Sir Thomas More on the Stephen Colbert show. Never have I heard this monologue performed with such a keen sense of prescience. Nor have I ever been in this exact historical moment.TY Sir Ian, for reaching us once again.

Feels important to note that 5% of land in the Upper Peninsula is technically owned by Singapore, based on prior reporting from @bridgemi.com.

This is via foreign timber investment firms, where it's hard to trace who exactly owns these companies.

Of course, I feel sorry for the Washington Post employees who got laid off. It's always horrible to get laid off when you need the money to survive and I feel sorry for the people who have to go through that. I was just commenting on the Washington Post being a credible news source. That's it.

I grew up a lot on film criticism. Chris Stuckmann, Red Letter Media, YourMovieSucks, Nostalgia Critic, How It Should Have Ended, Screen Junkies, Cinema Sins, etc. I feel there was a golden age of widely accessed film criticism there before everything got so fragmented. schaffrillas productions...

News is only getting fragmented and polarizing with time. A worrying trend to be sure. With institutions getting weaker and weaker overtime, the more of a problem this will be overtime. The Washington Post is getting weaker. The Messenger shut down, which was unfortunate because it was becoming a...

Although I suppose one of the Pulitzers did go to Ann Telnaes. Who left the post in January 2025. Still, I think the Washington Post is a credible outlet even if you disagree with the change to the editorial section. A good news section still exists underneath.

The Washington Post won a few Pulitzer Prizes just for 2025, which was not that long ago. Has it really gone so downhill in such a short amount of time? www.pulitzer.org/prize-winner...

I get that people don't like the washington post, but at least it was a reliable source of information. It's not pseudoscience garbage that you would find on breitbart and daily caller. I think it is sad as I feel we have a reputable news outlet cutting staff when hyper partisan media is getting...

I thought David Brooks made an interesting point about how those who support trump have a different perception of the shooting of Renée Good in Minnesota than those who oppose trump. www.youtube.com/watch?v=QQii...

What I just posted were my thoughts regarding the two shootings in Minneapolis and what locations I thought ICE were going to target next. Although I didn't say where I thought ICE was going to target next, I just said what I knew of where the military had been sent so far.

Well, we live in an era where what we believe determines what we see. In the case of Renee Good, there seems to be a different perception of events depending on the political party you belong to. If one identifies as a democrat, they will think Renee good was murdered by ICE. If one identifies as...

I feel that no one sees the world the way I do and its a lonely feeling that seems to get lonelier with time. As America moves away from the ideals I once loved, America is dead to me now. Nothing more than a shallow husk. I no longer stand for the pledge of allegiance as I no longer feel proud...

I'm currently reading the missing half by Ashley Flowers. It is about two women, Nicole and Jenna, who sisters both went missing and team up to find out where they went. I'm liking it so far but still have a long way to go. Got to finish it for book club.

I played Metaphor: ReFantazio and thought the game was good. Certainly, deserved to win game of the year from GameSpot and IGN. That's for sure. I thought gamespot's game of the year video summed up the game's quality quite well. You can find the video here: www.youtube.com/watch?v=zeU7...
