"Brutally hilarious" is exactly right. I really thought SPINE by John Patrick Higgins (@johnnymuggins.bsky.social) was brilliant. Love your write-up! And you pulled a favorite line: "Climbing out of the bath was an impossibility, and saw me lying in the tub, hairy and trapped as a spider."

It was an honor to be an early reader of this beautifully written personal essay, Dana! There are so many terrific moments, and your loving characterization of your father is memorable and poignant. I suspect a lot of people caring for their elderly parents will deeply identify with this work.
