Utility-scale solar power in Texas uses .1% of Texas lands & .14% of working lands. And, dual & multi-use land activities are increasing at solar farms every day — agrivoltaics. Landowners tell us what we can & cannot do when they offer their private property to make solar income. #txenergy

Two new ERCOT battery storage records yesterday. Output record: 4,833 MW & served 10% of demand. Not only are we seeing higher output but larger BESS volume over longer periods. The morning & evening curves are widening. This is important for enhanced grid reliability. #txenergy

Energy storage in TX recently reached a new milestone: over 10,000 MW of installed capacity. And, 780 MW are synching with the grid now. Dispatchable, flexible. Fastest energy resource to develop & bring to the grid. Lowers power prices, increases reliability & addresses congestion. #txenergy 🔋⚡️

2024 was the year of energy storage in TX. Project/technology costs dropped. Incredibly strong capacity growth. Increased participation in ERCOT ancillary services & RT market. Zero ERCOT conservation alerts (compared to 11 in 2023). Output records. Lower consumer costs & increased reliability.
2024 was a fantastic year for energy storage
Batteries reshaped the power grid in California and Texas, showing the rest of the country what's possible when the tech is allowed to flourish.
