It’s like we’re all in a dystopian novel by Ray Bradbury (Fahrenheit 451). I think this just makes people more curious about these books. I wish they would remove one of my books - The 13th Boy (teacher sexual abuse) or Definitely Maybe Not (abortion) are both candidates - go ahead, do it!

Nearly 400 books removed from school libraries in one Tennessee county. Based on my skim of the list, most of them appear to be books by women, authors of color, &/or LGBTQ+ authors.

Feeling dread and deja vu. When Reagan was elected, I had a Federal Poetry grant and two book contracts. First thing he did was cut off the arts. All that mattered was $. We’re there again, but worse. I fear for my daughter (20s), for human rights, for American Freedom. Freedom is everything.
