A bit of an intro to me. I work in data science and cyber security research, but don’t post much about that because companies don’t like sharing and also I always doubt myself. My hobby is collecting hobbies and love nothing more than going deep into a new thing. Most of what I’ll post will be that

Picked up this book tonight, originally written in the 1800s. The Introduction is 11 pages long going on and on about “kids these days want to use shortcuts (color pencils) and don’t want to put in the effort to get good at something”

I’m pretty happy with how this turned out. Playing with shadows and different “values” to show contrast. My angels of depth are still wonky but it’s getting better

Continuing to work on my drawing skills. I’m happy with how I’m drawing bark and I’m starting to figure out shading a bit. But I’ve got foliage pads without obvious branches which looks odd.

I’ve got a perennial mint patch and one of my favorite things is cleaning up all the woody branches in the fall. The wood smells so sweet and minty. Its like the best mojito ever

Did some fall maintenance on my Japanese maple. I think I want cut the left trunk 1 node shorter eventually, and next year I’ll cut the main trunk stump back flush with the bottom of the left trunk. This one has 5-6 years to develop before it’s in good shape #bonsai

I love general data science and modeling, but I really dig C2 beaconing and could be happy focusing totally on C2 detection methods. There are so many different ways to obfuscate traffic patterns and I love the challenge
