Some people assume that having ADHD makes you bad at school, like you inherently aren’t able to do well. In hindsight having ADHD was my super power at school. The new information WAS dopamine. This kind of 2e kid (likely me) rarely gets talked about and I think we should change that.

Teachers should not be calling home for any other reason than academics. Admins forcing teachers to make calls of a sensitive nature are priming that teacher for a year of parent distrust (of them AND the school ) & increased hostility. Make the call & lead.

Jake Tapper did not think very hard about marketing this book. What is his point? All anybody sees is that he held back information until it was financially beneficial, about a beloved President who now has prostate cancer. To call it poor taste would be kind. It’s just giving everyone the ick.

Is there something I need to read as to why NYC curriculum choices/offerings are centralized? Thinking of scripted curriculums. I get the (horrible) appeal but why can’t principals decide what they think is best and then use that. Why this lack of autonomy?

this is obviously disturbing retaliation but i will note that i was once banned from George Washington University’s campus and then like a year later they accepted me to their law school so i wouldn’t sweat it

The right slogan for this fight needs to “ PUBLIC MONEY MAKES A PIBLIC SCHOOL”. The entire premise of public money without accountability has always been ludicrous and this right wing push provides the opportunity to right that outrageous wrong.

I can all but guarantee that the already overwhelmed teacher isn’t looking for livestock. This stuff reeks of “we’re out of useful ideas”.
