I have a new novel out today, in case you need last minute costume ideas. Suicide Solution is the final novel of the Suicide Arc. I talk about it here on my substack. #bookskies #sciencefiction #writercommunity

Every day, I find something about the history of the English language that confirms I speak a gang of seven languages that lurk in back alleys and mug other languages for new words. Learned today Flemish runs with that gang. See the silent "h" in "ghost." They did that. #langauge #writercommunity

Dilly dilly!
The Epstein Ballroom it is
Why does everyone keep calling it “The Epstein Ballroom?” Please stop repeating “The Epstein Ballroom” because it is not called “The Epstein Ballroom!” Don’t tell the news that it’s called “The Epstein Ballroom” and please don’t repost this!!!!!

The implosion of my Facebook presence (which I believe was part of the AWS debacle) convinces me I should spend a lot more time here, on Substack, and YouTube. #facebooksucks

I'm pondering replacing Messenger with Signal. Should I live stream if some dumbass at the White House accidentally invites me to a classified war planning chat? #facebooksucks

Kicked off Facebook because Amazon's AWS sneezed.

Mad that I'm rendered a non-entity on Facebook. Laughing because I work for an Amazon contractor, so my employer is making Zuck miserable. #schadenfreude

Here's something I've wondered about Star Trek. Are Starfleet officers required to record personal logs? It's established you need permission or a warrant to access them. What if someone doesn't want to keep a log or prefers to write a journal instead? #startrek

I had a friend (not my first reader and biggest fan, but someone who's followed me for years now) ask if I was going to write something outside of my current universe.

No.

"Just as a good man forgets his deed the moment he has done it, a genuine writer forgets a work as soon as he has completed it and starts to think about the next one; if he thinks about his past work at all, he is more likely to remember its faults than its virtues." — W. H. Auden

@seanferrick.bsky.social Those were Commodore Perry Porters, or as I call them, breakfast beer. Either the sound was garbled and relooped as "Guiness." (No, no, no, no! I've had both. No.) or the prop department messed up.

There. Now we just need Wil Wheaton to explain this on air.
