If you want to say, "Happy Holidays", then say it. Merry Christmas doesn't cover all of the December holidays and celebrations like Hannukah, Kwanza, and New Year's Eve.

The hubby and I were really hoping to go to the inauguration. We looked for hotel rooms but couldn’t find any in a good area. It’s just as well, we would have had to cancel our plans.
