Happy Birthday to Lord Byron, born #OTD 1788. Byron was a student here at Trinity College. As well as printed volumes of his work and collections of correspondence the library has his hat.

Born #OnThisDay in 1887 was Indian mathematician Srinivasa Ramanujan. Despite having almost no training in mathematics, he is regarded as one of the greatest mathematicians of all time. He became one of the youngest Fellows in the Royal Society's history when he was elected in 1918 at the age of 31.

Spot the typo on pg 20. #OTD 1859 Darwin's On The Origin of Species was published. It was corrected in the 2nd printing. This copy was given by Adam Sedgwick and includes his many notes and an inscription by the author. Digitised in full here:
