I need a Western game that uses references to pop culture (or whatever the creators really love) in the same way a game like Pokemon does for Japan. The game that references Western culture in the way I like the most is Earthbound, but it carries a lot of untapped potential tbh.

After spending so long on the game in the past, I strongly feel that making Mario Maker levels is like writing but to practice specifically sentence structure. Sure, designing something just to be fun using novel combinations of existing assets is an important skill, BUT (1/3)

I was going to watch Jake Steinberg's XC2 playthrough since I'll have a bit more free time and it sounds fun. Only then to find out he locked his VODs under members only, and there also doesn't seem to be an edited video series either. To anybody who knows, am I just out of luck?

Just played the first chapter of Fire Emblem (GBA) - this is a fun time! I loved Advance Wars, so obviously I had to check out this series at some point. Lyn is interesting and I can't wait to see where the story goes, actually. I'm shocked as I thought it wouldn't be for me.

This is going to sound silly, why are there no tower defense games with a major story focus from what I've seen? I feel like the genre would be vastly improved with more interesting context. The narrative could certainly bounce off the gameplay premise too, so no issues there.

People that freak out over game remakes and remasters would lose their minds at the thought of books having multiple editions (with the later ones being intended to replace the book in the public eye)

Deltarune and the Phineas and Ferb reboot dropped on the same day, now PvZ Replanted and the new Fionna and Cake season are dropping on the same day. My special interests have gotta pick better days to drop their shit I can only go so crazy....

Super Paper Mario would go hard as a pixel art Indie game with Undertale-like qualities and a script touchup. It's really interesting and has super cool ideas, but I think Pixls and a few of the antagonists could do with a major rewrite and further distancing from standard Mario.

Toby Fox going out his way like 3 or 4 times in the last year to say that Undertale Yellow is pretty cool and deserves respect makes me really happy. I'll play it soon, it looks like a good time. Fan works have historically been pretty awesome for Undertale though huh?

Xenoblade 2 chapter 4 > (most of) Xenoblade 1 chapter 8 and I’ll die on that hill. Chapter 4 is overhated and Chapter 8 is legitimately boring!

People have sold me on Trails in the Sky, but I don’t have that kind of money. That’s unfortunate, since it does sound like a worthwhile play! I hope everybody playing it has had fun so far.
